PRAIRIE SEA is my summer-feel-good song written at my happy summer place: Sandy Lake, Manitoba. It paints a portrait of summer on the prairies and was featured as the theme song for Embrace Theatre's (Saskatoon) family production that toured Saskatchewan's provincial parks in the summer of 2014.

Lyrics

PRAIRIE SEA
Katie Miller©2015

I like the sound of gravel
Crunching underneath my tires
I like to feel the wind
Pushing me a little bit farther
I like to see the canola
Blooming in the fields

Come take a ride with me
And we’ll sail along this prairie sea
In the summertime
In the summertime…

I like watching the clouds
Tell their amusing stories
I like to stop and pick the
Saskatoons by the pailful
I like to hear the coyotes
Laughing at their jokes

I like it when the sky
Turns dark in the afternoon, yeah
I like to see the lightning
Flashing all around me
I like to feel the thunder
Thumping through my chest

Won’t you come take a ride with me
In the summertime
And we’ll sail along this prairie sea
In the summertime…
