From the recording A New Day
This song is about overcoming self-doubt. I wrote it for my husband, my rock, who has always believed in me, especially during the times when I didn't believe in myself. This song is a thank you to him for making me see what he sees in me.
Lyrics
What You See – Katie Miller © 2016
You were the artist that had the vision
The inspiration to look beyond the wreckage
You saw the broken bits as beautiful
Every single jagged edge
Oh what you see, is everything, every little thing I need
It’s all I need to set me free.
You were the carpenter that had the plan
To restore what had been lost for far too long
You took the pieces that had all crumbled down
And you gave them hope
Oh what you see, is everything, every little thing I need
It’s all I need to set me free.
And you held up the mirror to my face
And you made me see what you see in me
Oh what you see, is everything, every little thing I need
It’s all I need to set me free.
