From the recording A New Day
This song is the newest on the album, written this past December, inspired by my thoughts on the Syrian refugee crisis and my belief in humankind. I attribute John Lennon's "Imagine," also as a source of inspiration for this song.

This December – Katie Miller © 2016
This December’s got me down
With the way the world’s been spinnin
Out of control right before our very eyes
I’m havin a hard time holdin on
This December’s got me bitter
With mankind falling down, and
Breaking to pieces that are scattered everywhere
Why do you look the other way
Oh, it’s up to you and me, can you see
Oh, take my hand and try to understand
This December’s got me hopin
For a little spark of light
To grow into a flame ignited by us all
Where we will stand as one
Oh let us stand as one
Oh, it’s up to you and me, can you see
Oh, take my hand and try to understand
Oh, it’s up to you and me, can you see
Oh, take my hand and try to understand
This December’s got me hopin
